Mario Liu and Robert Holmes Respond to the Trump Election
Quietly in the background, prophetic discussion has ensued between this ministry and Mario Liu with Robert Holmes of Storm Harvest Ministry regarding the election of Trump despite the clear word to these brothers over a period of years that Hillary Clinton was to be elected. This discussion continued through my urging these brothers to "dig deeper" for God's explanation over this apparently failed word. Did they mis-hear God due to some carnal fault, or was there a higher revelation to be gained to the Lord's glory explaining the apparent "trumping" of their word.
Because Mario's response is so lengthy, I have decided to attach it as a document which you can open and read for yourself here. It includes Mario's dialogue with Robert, Robert's further specific explanation as heard from the Lord, Mario's further scriptural notes and commentary out of all this, quotation of an entire article by Jennifer LeClaire of Charisma magazine, and extensive quotation from Ray Ashmore's book: Thy Kingdom Come: Just Don't Bother Us With It.
What I am going to do here instead is broadly summarize Robert and Mario's conclusions that includes some larger interpretation of my own.
&&&&&&&&&&
The bottom line prophetic reality here is that like Old Testament Israel, the New Testament people of God, especially here in America, are on a wilderness journey to a Promised Land out of Egypt. The destiny of that journey is the kingdom of God on earth. It is sure and will not be altered. What is not sure however is the dynamic play-out over how and when that destination will be achieved and by whom. Conflicting (dueling) prophetic spirits operated in and among the Israelites on this journey. The true prophets led by such as Moses and Samuel spoke the word of the Lord's purpose and intention. The other "prophets" however were "prophets" of Egypt, pulling the people back to the wrong destination and values based in idolatry of a certain earthly life style. And as a result of this dueling, many people of Egyptian heart who expected to enter the Promised Land never did. They neither got in to the Land nor ever went back to Egypt. They died there in the wilderness. And so the process was extended out over generations. God raised up others who would enter later who had no affinity for Egypt.
What is important for our discussion however is to see that at certain points in these dueling spiritual wilderness battles, the Lord turned from His truest intention spoken by His true prophets to "answer the prayers" of His Egyptian minded "intercessors" and the satisfaction of their "prophetic" voices. Two outstanding examples of this were the Lord's turning to answer the people's cry for meat in the desert by giving them quail. The other was the Lord's answer to the people's cry for a king. In both these cases, God overruled His own declared intentions as spoken through His true prophets to give the lustful people what they desired... but which ultimately came to mean their ruin. Both the true intent and the turning from that intent were of the Lord.
In the short term of this, God's turning to satisfy His people's idolatrous desire undercut the stature of the true prophetic leadership who contradicted what they were "praying" for, believing for, and "prophetically" declaring to be. And in the present matter, the Storm Harvest brethren have determined that they have to endure being undercut by the Lord's willingness to turn to satisfy the lust of His Egyptian minded prophetic people here in America. In the end however, it will not change the big picture truth that America is done as nation (we are never going back to Egypt), and there will be a generation who walks out of America into the true Promised Land of the kingdom of God on this earth.
Personally speaking, I find this to be a sound explanation on the whole, though in my own mind, the situation is still too fluid and tenuous such that I'm not sure Trump will necessarily be fully elected on December 19 or inaugurated on January 20, or in the event that He is inaugurated, that he will last to ever accomplish what the "Cyrus" proponents are claiming he will do. (Even the "Cyrus prophetic" is not sure of it given the urgent tenor of their own calls to ongoing intercession to "ensure that nothing happens" to the fulfilment.) But and yet I do believe that if Trump does last, it will not go well in the end for the wilderness church here or for the nation. The "quail" that will have been successfully interceded into place will turn into the vomit of betrayal. But I will save more detailed comment on this for a separate article.
(By the way, in light of what Mario has written, I found it noteworthy yesterday that former vice president Dan "Quayle" made an unexpected visit to Donald Trump. Yesterday's headline out of the Daily Mail in London began as follows: Former Vice President Dan Quayle enters Trump Tower virtually unnoticed... Anyone see a possible hidden prophetic sign in that statement?)
