The Gentile Pattern of Old Covenant Unbelief

The question before us is, what does Paul's revealed mystery of abolished cultural enmity between Jews and Gentiles have to do with my prophetic assertion that this Church Age has itself been a period in which the Gentiles have been concluded in unbelief? The answer: everything.

If we look carefully at gentile church history, we will easily see that, despite the element of faith in Christ's atoning death and resurrection that lies at the heart of the earthwide gospel preached all these centuries, the truth is that the faith pertaining to the mystery of this gospel, ie, the faith to enter into a heritageless identity, was lost before the ministry of the founding apostles was even finished.

In truth, the mystery of the heritageless gospel was not realized in the church at Jerusalem, never having gotten off the ground there. Almost no one in the Jerusalem church leadership believed in this mystery, and any like Peter who finally came to believe it ended up having to leave (or like Stephen ended up stoned to death!)

But as for the gentile churches of Asia and on throughout the Roman Empire--those that had received the direct ministries of Paul and Peter and the preaching of the mystery, the truth of heritageless faith was not long after abandoned in favor of wedding the gospel to gentile cultural forms and roots! What in fact developed over the next two thousand years was a "hybrid" gospel of faith in Christ for salvation wed to unbelief toward transcendence of national culture and heritage.
