Recovering the Lost Mystery of the Gospel

Getting Our Hands Around the Unbelief

 

 

The points made in this article are not new. They are only truths that others have articulated in piecemeal applications, but now at this hour, are coming together to form a bigger picture.

 

Many church age saints with a John-the-Baptist heart have struggled against the underlying unbelief that has dominated this age. Each has been used to attack specific areas. Each has seen parallels with Israel's unbelief regarding their target issues. Yet for all their efforts, most of them or their followers fell victim to their own hidden areas of unbelief, recreating the thing they were trying to destroy. Hardly has any of us escaped the unbelief of our natural heritage.

 

What we've failed to realize is that we all, as an age, have been concluded under unbelief. So even if we succeed at exposing the fallacies of one part of the church in a given regard, we still have had to watch our own backside for signs of unbelief. Now we are beginning to see the magnitude of our unbelief. The Lord is revealing a much bigger picture of how we have never really engaged and submitted to the New Covenant.

 

The unbelief of faith and trust in human heritage is the fundamental unbelief that neither Gentile nor Jewish converts under the New Covenant have ever transcended as a unified corporation. From Acts through every restoration and revival, every work of God has been built on this faulty foundation and corrupted by it--right through todays prophetic movement. Until this most basic unbelief is overcome, we will never see the manifestation of the kingdom of God in the earth. And sadly, it will require a worldwide race war called Armaggeddon to bring this unbelief to a head before it will be wiped out.

 

- What Does God Want From Us?

 

God wants people who are so dead to their natural heritage that they become untouchable by the increasing earthwide tension developing over the Jewish / Gentile consciousness divide. He wants converted "Jews" who realize they are no longer "Jews" and are able to say good-bye to their fleshly heritage. He wants converted gentiles (especially "American" gentiles) who realize they are no longer "Americans" and are able to say good-bye to their fleshly heritage.

 

This is the nature of faith He has sought since he released Paul with the mystery, and that he is still looking for, and of which all evidence points He will not find much at the end of this age. Yet such faith alone is what will save us from the inevitable clash based in unrepentant unbelieving enmity between the Jewish and non-Jewish races of the earth.

 

Again, pride is intrinsic to the ownership of fleshly heritage. The Lord has made it clear that the only ones He will dwell with are those who have had their pride in heritage and culture destroyed. He has also made it clear that it is only such as these who will survive what is coming and with Whom he will start over in the earth. 

 

I know that the present spiritual flow that seeks to peg everything in the mind of God to the destiny of fleshly Israel is virtually irresistible. Every prophecy, every dream, every national circumstance seems to be made to find its explanation in human relationship to this fleshly people.

 

But God has also told us that at the end, if we have not loved the truth, He would send us a strong delusion that we should believe a lie. Well, the truth of the New Covenant and the transcendent Mystery of the Gospel has already been laid out for the entire age to believe. Whatever the Old Testament had to say about Israel is subsumed in this mystery. It cost the backbone apostle of the New Testament (himself a Jew) everything he had and more to bring it to us. So like every generation before us, we are without excuse. Will we love this truth? Or will we believe a lie?

 

The ramifications of this are enormous and cause the soul to quake. (It makes me quake just writing about it.) But if we can endure the quaking and put up with the biting wind of those who cannot or will not believe the truth of this mystery, we will be assured a place of protection and victory in the coming days.

 

Now, you've heard the mystery explained for yourself in its beauty of simplicity--perhaps as never before.
