Recovering the Lost Mystery of the Gospel

Connecting the Lost Mystery to the Impending Conflagration

 

 

I submit to you that there is a serious connection between the lost mystery of the gospel and the human state of affairs that ends in Armageddon--that grasping or not grasping this mystery affects the destiny of the whole earth, putting it in the balance. Today, earth is on the brink of a global human conflagration centered on the land of Israel. Yet being the prophetic people of our time, we show little discernment concerning the New Covenant's core mystery as applies to today's positioning of the nations toward that conflagration.

 

The final war in the earth is ultimately a race war. The question for "believers" in Christ is, do we want to be a part of that war? What we must realize is that unless we allow the sword of the Word of God to divide us from our natural racial heritage, we will be part of that war--on the human side.

 

We must realize that if we are taking uncrucified sides with Israel based on natural heritage alignment ("we share the same heritage"), and are interceding for them from that platform, then we are helping to foment that war in its carnal dimension. (Would it surprise you if I said I have heard of Christians making plans to move to Israel specifically to take up human arms in Israel's defense?)

 

Armageddon will be a war like no other war in the history of man. It is really going to be two wars fought on two plains at the same time. It will be a war between races over natural Israel. And it will be a war between God and mankind over the acknowledgment of His Son as the Transcendent Head of a Transcendent Race called Israel over all natural human races. We will all be part of that war, but on which plain?

 

 

- The Nature of End Time Destruction

 

In light of the lost mystery of the gospel, it is significant how this age is to end. The age has been destined to end in a conflagration of human world wars. This brings to mind the words of James: 

4:1 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? 2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war...

 

It also brings to mind Paul's warning to the Galatians: 

5:15 But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another! 16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

 

Like Romans 11, these words were written to local believers for personal application. But also like Romans 11, these words have prophetic meaning of global scope. They show us in silhouette that the final wars are traced to the fact that mankind has not obtained the faith to leave behind its fleshly identities and the prides and lusts attached to those identities.

 

Especially significant is what is at the center of the final wars--namely the clashing of Jewish and Gentile races over the site of earthly Jerusalem. All the prophecies of both covenants tell us that the Jewish / Gentile conflict stands at the heart of the final wars. Yet as we have just seen again, under the New Covenant, natural wars are over fleshly identities. And to maintain adherence to fleshly identities is to ignore and violate the basic mystery of the gospel of faith.

 

In short, the final wars prove not only that, as far as the gospel mystery is concerned, there is little faith to be found in the earth, but also that the Gentiles have been concluded in unbelief for having failed to enter into the mystery as much as Israel failed and continues to fail in its belief.

 

All of this has great ramifications for today's intercessory movements regarding Israel. Virtually to a man, today's intercession for nations and about Israel is based in the preservation of national heritages in Adam. What this means is that the intercessory movements are contributing to the build-up of the explosion of mankind at Armageddon.

 

Every ministry that takes human sides for or against natural Israel and makes its relationship to fleshly Israel the centerpiece of its own identity and purpose is guilty of unbelief of the mystery of the gospel and the New Covenant and is destined to be "cut off." It is virtually safe to say that every ministry and believer which does this is guilty of having already failed the Mystery regarding his own gentile heritage. I do not know of a supporter or opponent of natural Israel that is not also steeped in support of his/her own national heritage--especially in America.

 

-          Heritage and Pride 

An early observation we made is that, at the end, the only ones left will be the lowly and the contrite with whom the Lord will dwell. The Lord will remove all the proud ones from the earth. On its earthly plain, Armageddon is a war over racial pride. It will be ended through the defeat of human racial pride itself by the Transcendent Army from above. The war will be ended by the triumph of its spiritual plain.

 

What we need to understand is that pride and unbelief are intrinsic to ownership of natural heritage. In fact, wherever you hear the word heritage exalted, you can basically substitute the word pride. The world already does this. "Black Heritage Month" can as easily be called "Black Pride Month." (Forty years ago it was called "Black Power.") The concept of "American Heritage" is as easily substituted with the term "American Pride."

 

Yet all such pride is wedded to unbelief. So we can equally speak of "Black Unbelief Month" or "American Unbelief." Everywhere you see the word "heritage" used on the local events page of your local paper, just substitute in the word unbelief. Then you will see it from God's point of view.

 

It is the unbelieving pride in national and racial heritage that brings the world to the point of near self-destruction at Armageddon. Most ironically, it is the unbelieving Christian gentile church--supposed stewards of the lost mystery--aligned with the unbelieving Jews of Israel that will make this war happen. But it is the final removing of natural heritage with its unbelieving pride that the Lord promises at the end, and by which He wins the war, and his government of overcoming Transcendent Ones--those who submitted to the sword of heritage denial--that will come into manifest force.
